Scaling up Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Industry. A Digital Supply Chain Strategy Approach.

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY

Since the beginning of time, the oil and gas business has been confronted with an increasing number of obstacles. These challenges have included increased government regulation, political risks, competition, emerging new competitors, and political hostilities.

CHAPTER TWO

PREAMBLE OF THE RELATED LITERATURE

As a result, growth and output have been negatively impacted. As a result of the competition for resources, a great number of oil and gas companies have been compelled to conduct exploration and production in some of the most inhospitable and difficult locations, which, in turn, tend to be exceedingly expensive (Jatto, 2024). The availability of oil resources is not the primary obstacle that the oil and gas business must overcome; rather, the industry must contend with operational inefficiencies, disruptions in supply chain, and technological restrictions that prevent it from reaching its full potential (Hussain et al., 2024). To achieve this objective, a robust digital supply chain management programme will be of great assistance.

Furthermore, the combination of both quantitative analysis and in-depth case studies provides a particular layer to the research, presenting a comprehensive viewpoint that goes beyond surface observations. This is because the research makes use of both of these methods. Not only does this methodological innovation contribute to the fact that the study is more credible, but it also establishes it as a pioneering contribution to the field. It has the potential to impact future strategies and decision-making processes within the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

CHAPTER THREE

Research Method

A quantitative methodology, in conjunction with in-depth case studies, will be utilised in the research project. A comprehensive and in-depth examination into the digital transformation environment within the industry is anticipated to be achieved through the combination of these analytical approaches.

For the purpose of the research, quantitative approaches, such as surveys and data analysis, will serve as a strong basis. These methods will enable the researcher to collect statistical data on the current status of the sector and the preparation for digitization. Quantifying trends, perceptions, and prospective results related with the implementation of digital supply chain strategies in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector can be accomplished through the conduct of surveys among industry stakeholders and the analysis of relevant data.

When these quantitative methodologies are supplemented by in-depth case studies of businesses that have effectively incorporated digital technology into their supply chain operations, a significant qualitative grasp of the practical consequences and issues that are faced in the industry will be obtained. Through the examination of real-world scenarios and the results they produce, it is possible to derive useful insights, best practices, and lessons learned that can serve as a roadmap for the implementation of digital strategies within the settings of Nigeria.
