CHAPTER ONE
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
- To accelerate industrial development by enlarging the supply of entrepreneurs.
- For industrial development of rural and less developed areas where local entrepreneurs from nearby cities and towns are not easily attractable.
- Enlarging the small and medium seals enterprise sector which offers potential for employment generation and wider disposal of industrial ownership.
- How to provide productive self-employment to a number of educated and less educated young men and women coming out of school and colleges.
CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
This chapter examines past and recent literature from journals, articles, monograph and text written by gurus that may contribute to the wealth of the study.
History of entrepreneurship development in Nigeria
The Nigeria people are enterprising. They are involved in productive activities such as faming, trading and other creative activities such as craft in order to make ends meet.
Nigeria is a country in West African with total area of 923, 768sq km which is made up of 910,768sq km water. The climate condition in the country varies; it is equatorial in the south, tropical in the centre and arid in the north. The country is blessed with both human and several natural resources such as crude oil, natural gas, arable land. The estimation population of the country is about 180 million people.
In Nigeria, English language is the official lingua France while Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo language are the three major language most common spoken.
The country consist of 36 states and one federal territory (FCT) located in Abuja. The country operates a 3 tiers structure federal, state and the local government. And run a presidential system of government.
In the pre- independence Nigeria, entrepreneurship was carried out the British colonialists.
The native people had no means of owning productive resources, there were only limited to carry out agricultural activities with crude technology. However, as the country gained independence entrepreneurship activities began to take shape and form gradually in the post-independence Nigeria.
CHAPTER THREE
RESEARCH METHOD
Research method is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a field of study. It comprises the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles associated with a branch of knowledge.
INTRODUCTION
Research can be said to mean the consuming interest in finding better method of performance in relation to flexibility to welcome or accept change and reliability to adapt to it. This would warrant taking a look at what the term methodology means.
Methodology is the specification of procedures for collecting and analyzing the data necessary to help solve the problems at hand, such that the difference between the cost of obtaining various level of accuracy and expected value of accuracy is maximized.
CHAPTER FIVE
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
Entrepreneurs play a vital role in economic development as key contributors to technological innovation and new job growth, Further, entrepreneurs help build communities in ways such as providing jobs, conducting business locally, creating and participating in entrepreneurial networks, investing in community projects, and giving to local charities. Realizing both the economic and social impact of entrepreneurship, many states and local communities have implemented aggressive strategies aimed at cultivating and nurturing entrepreneurs.
The study has so far carefully discussed about entrepreneurship as an instrument for improving economic growth of a Nation. This discussion was into different
CONCLUSION
This project is no doubt carried out for the purpose of ascertaining the role and importance of entrepreneurship as an activities instrument for improving economic growth of a
Nation. Base on the analysis of findings the following are the basis facts that were arrived at:-
- Entrepreneurship make use accumulated resource.
- It give opportunity of expression of skill
- It creates Job employment for society.
- It creates room for self-reliance.
In conclusion, Entrepreneurship involved creation idea, innovation and incentive in order to produce a new product. Which encourage the country to gain a post in the international market scene?
“Peter Druc/cer” (1909) had it that healthy business cannot exist in a sick society. This is to say healthy entrepreneur who operate in an unhealthy environment and are not supported by Government through by their policy or any other mean will not be able to survive in such environment.
Therefore, significant business opportunity is to solve the social and environmental problem. Which is turn to Entrepreneurship as an instrument for economic growth of a nation.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Having considered the above findings in relation to entrepreneurship as the key to economic development of a nation, the following recommendation are provided for consideration based on the findings from the analysis of data in last chapter.
- Government should support the ways of entrepreneur in our various organizations.
- Government should considered law tariff/tax rate, here entrepreneurship will perform and contribute positively to the economy.
- Enough funds should be made available to business entrepreneurship in order to enhance their performance.
