Design and Simulation of a Personal Computer Temperature Control System
CHAPTER ONE
AIMS/OBJECTIVES
The aim of this project work is to design an effective temperature control system, which is computer based and which will provide solution to the inaccuracy of he manual system
The objectives include:
- To design a temperature control system that will be very accurate and effective
- To design a system that will be quite automatic without any human intervention in its control
CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
FUZZY LOGIC: With a climate personal computer temperature control system it is difficult to determine the precise relationship of the many inputs and outputs. On the other hand, the rules of control do not appear complex to the human mind. If you want to increase the temperature simply increase the power supplied to the heater. One of the major apply fuzzy logic in a temperature control system.
Our temperature control system is composed of two plywood boxes. The boxes are open on one side. One box contains the heater element, fan and sensors. The other box contain the light bulb. The boxes were the joined on their sides to form a temperature and light controlled environment.
The keys to inspiration in the design of fuzzy logic rules for this project have been to imagine we are the controller and ask ourselves, what would we do? We imagined we wanted to heat and cool a box as rapidly as possible with minimum for a given target temperature. To accomplish this we could adjust the heater output up and down in temperature. The dial was not market with temperature settings. This last fact is very important. We close to look at the problem this way because we did not know the exact relationship of heater input current to box temperature as a function of time. This exercise of imagination lead to the following rules. Below, let DT be target temperature minis actual temperature, DT at be the rate of charge of temperature with respect to time, and DT be the amount of adjustment to the heater.
CHAPTER THREE
SYSTEMS INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS
DESCRIPTION OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM
The existing system of temperature control is mechanical a mechanical device is used to ascertain personal temperature. It does not really detect the fluctuation of accurate due to the variation in the analog system of control that is not sophisticated
FACT FINDING METHOD USED
The researcher applied two fact- finding method in order to gather enough information for the completion of the work.
CHAPTER FOUR
THE DESIGN OF THE NEW SYSTEM
The new design is computerized and provides solutions to the problems of the existing system. The design aspects of the new system are detailed under this chapter.
OUT SPECIFICATION AND DESIGN
The output is of two types, the hard copy( that is the copy from the printer which is on paper) and the soft copy, which is the copy on the screen. The output is compressive and easy to read.
CHAPTER FIVE
IMPLEMENTATION
The design of the new system is put into effective usage and the articles of the implementation are contained under this chapter.
PROGRAM DESIGN
The program for this design was articulated using the top down approach. The contents of the existing system was broken down into simple unit and handled individually. Each unit was solved into a computer- based module aft wards synthesized to form a single system through menu link-up.
This module aids the user of the system to supply data through the keyboard into the system. The records after confirmation are saved automatically.
CHAPTER SIX
DOUMENTATION
The details and step-by-step procedure concerning the use of the new system are narrated in this chapter.
CHOICE OF LANGUAGE
The QBASIC language was used for this work because the use is veracities with the code. The language is also a general language.
CHAPTER SEVEN
CONCLUSION
The personal temperature control system is a very sensitive system and it requires accuracy and comprehensive record maintenance.
Manual approach forward personal temperature control system is tedious and inaccuracy faces the system, mental approach does not guarantee the result as and when due.
Computer with its sophisticated design provides solutions to the problems of the existing system. Computer makes the work flow very easy and interesting. Results are produced as and when due and accuracy is met
RECOMMENDATION
The research recommends as follows
- The data personnel to be employed should be very computer literate
- The new system should be implemented with the full system requirement for effective operation
- The system should maintain a follow-up exercise every six months.
