Chapter One

PURPOSE / AIMS OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The purposes or aim by which this research is undertaken are as follows:

  1. The study is expected to provide a computerized marketing concept for the organizations.
  2. It is also expected that the outcome of the study could prove useful to organizations that will realize the impact of customer services.
  3. To serve the organizations with the ability to tackle issues of public interest as regulated to market strategies.
  4. The study is expected to be another existing stock of knowledge for these organizations.
  5. To assess the accuracy and reliability of a computerized market system and compare it to the manual system of marketing.
  6. To correct the lapses found in the course of marketing with the manual system.
  7. To improve the enhancement of economic reforms with the aid of computers in these organizations.

CHAPTER TWO

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Market has different impact on different people.  The activator of market in organizational development is seen in different ways by different profession.

The applications of market is almost inborn in every activities of life, though these is official market prospectus.

The earliest market records have been under modification till date, because of the nature of market.  Many people today, delve into making daily research to make sure that they achieve the market objective which has always been hindered with one problem or the other.

According to Willsmore (1979), market is defined as a place where people come together to exchange their goods and services either in cash or in kind.  It is a place of buying and selling of goods and commodities.

In his mind, market starts right from production until it reaches the final consumer.  The activities of any business organization are in the hands of the marketers.  The repot generated by the marketing department is used for reference and quick decision making.  He defined sales report as a means used to obtain an accurate sales made by the company, prepared by the sales management department.  The market concepts means that an organization aims all its effort at satisfying its customers at a profit, manages still have a production orientation, making whatever product area easy to produce and then trying to sell them. Well managed firms have replaced this production orientation by means of trying to carryout the making concept.  Instead of just trying to get customers to buy what the firms has produced, a market orientation firms tries to produce what their customers need.

Lavin (1992) in his own view about market, defined financial markets as that which generates a vast quality of business information.  Publicity traded companies and investment funds are required by law to make regular and detailed disclosure about their operations, and investment brokerages and the business press likewise produce a continuous stream of stock-related information.

CHAPTER THREE

DESCRIPTION AND ANALYSIS OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM

The analysis of the existing system is a step – by – step study of the existing system with an attempt to discover its basic and inherent problems area.

Currently, the Nigerian breweries operations are handled in a semi computerized form  to initiate a transaction, it involves an originating brewery which it desires to transact business with the other brewery, is known as the responding brewery.  Usually, the investing brewery is being communicated through telephone, physically or through the post of interest is expressed, then a credit instruction is expressed and created.  This bears the breweries names, the type of transaction being engage in, the rate and the tenure.  The tenure determines the value date.

Having established the credit instruction, the two breweries will then append their signature on the credit instruction.  The brewery from whose account, money will be deducted informs of the Nigerian interbank settlement system, to honour the credit instruction when it is presented by the representative “courier” of the brewery.

The deductions and additions are then carried out at (Nigerian interbank settlement system) payments are processed, except they would cause the transmitting bank to exceed bilateral or multilaterally agreed exposure limits.  The report of the transaction carried out is then generated at the close of the day at NIBSS.

The brewery operations system user listing the existing system has the following format.  You have the user’s name, access date assigned and expiry date.

CHAPTER FOUR

 DESIGN OF THE NEW SYSTEM

The system intended in an on-line user friendly system with real time facilities.  It is an electronic network system for transmitting, irrevocable guaranteed unconditional credit transfers.  It has one of its objectives, the ability to interact fully with the users.

CHAPTER FIVE

IMPLEMENTATION

This part of the program shows how the developed software in this project can be used in crating charting and graphics for statistical presentation of data.  The program contents menu which has three methods of charting in this work.

(i) PIE METHOD – Takes form of pie chart which is drawn in form of a circle showing parts of the total statistical data presented, pie-charts are effective diagrams used for presenting data of proportion.  The entire value in pie-method must sum to angle 360.

CHAPTER SIX

DOCUMENTATOIN

Documentation describes how the program is used in its construction.  It also indicates how to use the system.  The program is used in different modules

CHAPTER SEVEN

 RECOMMENDATION

There should be full computerization of the market system in order to enable proper flow of information.

 CONCLUSION

There are numerous operations carried out in the Nigerian Brewery Company (NBC) and Nigerian Breweries Limited (NBL) such that one operation may be attended by different department, carrying files from one department to the other waste a lot of time and is tedious.  Some of the operation last up to a month or weeks which makes the work boring  this is because of lack of adequate communication network in the establishment and lack of computerized system.

To maintain all this operations will be easy to carry and it will enhance flexibility and efficiency.
