The Role of Association in Community Development (a Case Study of Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area)
CHAPTER ONE
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of his study is to ascertain the impact of Community Base Association (CBA) in the development of communities, particularly Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area in Anambra State.
This work aims therefore, to example the contributions of Community Based Association (CBA) in the developmental process of rural communities in Agulu, it is also aimed at enlightening the public on the need or importance and role (CBA) in buying a face lift to the standard of living of rural communities development programmes by the association and the implementation of such programme Vis-a vis their effects on the development and welfare of the inhabitant of the Agulu people.
CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
The concern for development and rural transformation in the third world countries has for long engaged the middle of scholars both in the developing and developed world. The strength of the association is derived from the number of existing literature both issues. Since there are various background of studies that are basic to the issue examined by this study, an examination of related literature therefore, development and community development and community based association, rural development programme in Nigeria.
ASSOCIATION
The call for association in community development process has been a recent event in Nigeria although self help development programme had been in existence at varying standard and dimension at different period, pre-colonial and post colonial. However, Okodu in his lecture note conceptualized association as organization that are not founded by government that these organization usually constitutes the catalyst for self-help in rural communities as they make effective use of traditional customs value and authority structures.
Okondu (1996) defined association as a membership organization which implies that the risks,. Cost and benefits are shared among its members an equitable basic and that its leaders and manages are liable to called to account by the members for the needs.
CHAPTER THREE
METHODOLOGY
This research work is intended to assess and investigate the contribution of non-governmental organizations with particular emphasis on community based association in the development of communities in Agulu, Anaocha local government area in Anambra State, also to ascertain the local of their achievement and back drops so far.
BRIEF OUTLINE OF THE STUDY
The chapter describes the design of the study, Area of the study, the population, simple the instrument used for data collection, validation and reliability of the instrument distribution and retrieval of the instrument and methods of data analysis.
CHAPTER FOUR
DATA PRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS
In this chapter, the information collected are categorized under headings and sub-headings. The tables are well presented and at the end of each table, analysis and inferences or dedications are made. The table is presented with reference to literature review.
In this chapter also, hypothesis are finally tested. And it is the presentation and analysis before testing of hypothesis.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
SUMMARY OF FINDING
Since early 1980s programme and development of communities in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Association clubs, Age grade, town, Women Association etc have embarked on viable self community development project consequently many essential amenities which government could not provide have made available to the people to materially an rich their communities. These effort no doubt have incidentally caused the people of these communities. To become more aware of their peculiar problems and the dignity inherent in self help community development programmes.
SUGGESTION FOR FURTHER STUDY
- Another research should be carried out to find out the factor affecting Association in community development.
- Further researchers should also endeavor to give an indebt study of this particular topic under study by enlarging the scope and adopting a different method of statistical analysis order to concentrate this finding.
